Can I Use For:
Cleaning?
The Purify Cleansing Blend can be an effective cleaner when added to water. It is generally recommended that you add about 5 drops of purify to water in small spray bottle. We've heard of some people adding purify to other cleaning solutions. We recommend being very careful when adding Purify to other cleaners as it is nearly impossible to tell what chemical reactions may occur (or more pointedly, what effect those chemical reactions may have on the surfaces you are cleaning) except through trial and error. Please be careful when doing mixing with cleaners so as to avoid ruining your cabinets, floors, etc.
Bug Bites?
Although you might not know if from the name, doTERRA Purify does an excellent job at soothing the discomfort caused by bug bites. While the blend is NOT meant to be an insect repellant, you may be pleasantly surprised at the relief you experience after apply a drop to the next bug bite you get!
Outdoors?
Because of the ingredients contained in Purify, you will want to avoid sunlight or UV rays for 12 hours after topical application. Not following these instructions can lead to some very intense sunburns and potential permanent skin damage.
Is It Safe:
During Pregnancy/While Nursing?
There are no known concerns with using Purify while pregnant or nursing. We would just advise that you follow the normal use guidelines and remember that Purify is not intended for internal use in any form.
For Kids Use?
Doterra products including the Purify Cleansing blend, are generally safe for all ages. As with all potent oils, it's best to first test a small amount to check for individual adverse reactions for any user, but especially children. Some kids may have extra sensitive skin and the Purify oil may need to be diluted when applying to bug bites. However, the blend is formulated so that most users can use as recommended without discomfort.

Purify is a blend of essential oils from Doterra. This blend includes different pine and citrus oils that lend the mixture a fresh, outdoorsy aroma. The aroma is effective in deodorizing homes, cars, and laundry. It can even be sprayed on bedsheets and linen or run in the home’s air conditioning system to eliminate unpleasant odors and leave behind a refreshing scent. The oil may also be sprayed almost anywhere else that the user needs to eliminate odor, such as the inside of shoes.
In addition, the oils work together to disinfect and clean. They can be used to disinfect surfaces in the home, fight infection in wounds, deter insect infestations in the home, and even serve as a flea and tick repellant for animals. Because the oil can be added to water, it can be sprayed throughout the house, on animals, or anywhere the consumer needs to disinfect. Typically, only a couple of drops suffice to help prevent infection in wounds or treat skin problems. When diffused throughout a room, Purify offers immune-strengthening properties that reduce the possibility that the user will get sick and helps to kill germs in the air that could also cause illness and infection.
The combination of deodorizing and disinfecting makes Purify a powerful essential oil blend that is perfect for use around the home. Its strength, however, can also cause skin irritation for some people and animals. As a result, consumers should use Purify carefully until they determine what their reaction to the oil will be. In additiuon, combining Purify with another oil such as Doterra’s coconut oil can dilute the blend and make it less likely to cause irritation.
